Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation is proud to present our 2010 feature musical "RENT" this November at the Shouson Theatre, Hong Kong Arts Centre. Tickets are available at all Urbtix Outlets from 25th October 2010 onwards.
A matinee is added on 27/11/2010 and tickets are available at the urbtix outlets: www.urbtix.hk now!!!
50 talented young actors, singers and dancers will bring this heart-wrenching story to life with songs like "RENT", "ONE SONG GLORY", "SEASONS OF LOVE", "TANGO MAUREEN", "LA VIE BOHEME" and more. Adapted and directed by Lindsey McAlister, with musical director Scott Gibson, choreographer Jun Mabaquiao and production designer Marsha Roddy, Jonathan Larson's Pulitzer-prize winning Broadway musical is based loosely on Puccini's opera La Boheme. It follows a year in the lives of seven friends living the disappearing Bohemian lifestyle in New York's East Village.
The musical explores the issues of AIDS, homelessness, homosexuality, and the struggle for art in New York City, persuading young people to be proactive in protecting themselves and the people around them. The performance will contain some use of strong language and references to sex and drugs. As such it is suitable for ages 12 or above, parental guidance is recommended for children aged 6 to 11.
